Travis Kelce is having his worst season since he barely played as a rookie.

While some have blamed his off-the-field activities, the future Hall of Famer finally opened up on what could really be dragging down his numbers in 2024.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 11-1 and hold the top spot in the AFC.

But with Kelce’s team attempting to become the first in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, everything is being scrutinized — especially when the Chiefs are barely winning games and have become the “luckiest team in the NFL.”

Kelce’s yards per catch (8.5) and game (53.1) are both career lows.

There’s no doubt his on-field frustration is peaking, and Kelce – now 35 – believes there’s a specific reason why his numbers are so off.

“For whatever reason this year, I just can’t find my way in the end zone,” Kelce said on his New Heights podcast.

“I’m just not on the same page as Pat.

“It can get frustrating. It can get … frustrating. That’s for damn sure.”

Even more troubling for the Chiefs is the lack of touchdown receptions by famous No. 87 in 2024 – he is even being outscored by fellow Chiefs tight end Noah Gray.

Kelce only has two TDs, which means that he’s either not getting open in the red zone or Mahomes is failing to find him when he is.

“Where I take a lot of pride is once we get in that red zone,” Kelce said. “I get a little hungrier.”

The Chiefs needed a bad snap to hang on and beat the 2-10 Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday.

Nine of Kansas City’s 11 wins this year have been by a touchdown or less.

The Chiefs also rank 11th in average scoring (24.1) and 15th in yards (341.6), which highlights a lack of efficiency and explosiveness in Andy Reid’s offense.

There’s still time for Mahomes and Kelce to get their rhythm back this season.

But with Josh Allen playing like an MVP in Buffalo and the Detroit Lions standing atop the NFC at 11-1, Kelce’s “frustrating” admission will be concerning to Chiefs fans still searching for offensive answers.

“There’s this great old adage in sport that supposedly good teams win when they play well, great teams win even when they play badly,” talkSPORT NFL Run Down host Will Gavin exclusively said.

“This Chiefs team in the past have been the Sir Alex Ferguson Man United team — they have been able to find ways to win.

“What you have to realize eventually is that teams will show you who they are. And over the course of now 13 weeks, I believe less and less and less that this Chief team are going to turn it around.

“Actually if anything, I think they’re getting worse rather than better.”
