Trippier has reportedly agreed terms with an overseas club.
Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier has agreed personal terms with a shock club after the end of the English transfer window, it has been reported.
Trippier didn’t start either of the Magpies’ opening two Premier League games after returning from Euro 2024.
The 33-year-old retired from international football with England on Friday just hours before Lee Carsley named his inaugural Three Lions squad.
The Athletic reported that Trippier wanted to leave Newcastle before the deadline – even though club manager Eddie Howe expressed his surprise at those reports.

He said: “He’s trained really well since he came back from the Euros. I think he’s only had two weeks of training, hence the reason why he didn’t start last week.
“I’m not really sure where this has come from … his leadership skills, his ability with the ball, his assist record, everything he brings to the group we definitely want here.”
The right-back was unable to secure a move to another Premier League club before the English window slammed shut on Friday evening, despite reported interest from Everton.
However, he has now agreed personal terms with Turkish Super Lig side Eyupspor, according to local journalist Resat Can Ozbudak.
It is claimed that he is now in negotiations with Newcastle over the terms of his current contract – suggesting that a payoff could be involved.

The transfer window in Turkey doesn’t close until September 13, meaning Trippier has plenty of time to finalise negotiations and secure a move away from St James’ Park.
Eyupspor are managed by the former Barcelona and Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan. They sit second in the Super Lig after promotion from Turkey’s second tier last season, a campaign during which they scored 77 goals in their 34 league matches.
Among their playing ranks is the former Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who cancelled his Nottingham Forest contract earlier in the year.
