Chicago is one of the most expensive cities to reside in the United States, with Angel Reese revealing she’s also a victim of those high costs, as her WNBA salary does not cover her $8,000-a-month rent.

Reese revealed her massive monthly rent in an Instagram live video, while her annual salary at Chicago Sky is $73,439.

Living paycheck to paycheck is not unusual for someone fresh out of college and in their mid-20s like Reese.

Reese’s lavish lifestyle comes from his off-court activities and brand endorsements.

The 22-year-old’s partnerships include candy brand Reese’s Pieces, Topps, Beats by Dre, Goldman Sachs, and his own podcast. As one of the WNBA’s biggest stars, these could be lucrative deals.

WNBA star Angel Reese was recently in New York City for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

‘Hate pays the bills, baby. I just hope you know that the WNBA doesn’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think it pays one of my bills,’ Reese said on Instagram. ‘Literally, I’m trying to think of rent for the place I live. I’m gonna do the math real quick. I don’t even know my salary.’

‘Hey, I’m living beyond my means! No, my rent is way higher than that. It’s $8,000. I’m living beyond my means.’

There are certainly good places to live in the Windy City that don’t cost Reese $96,000 a year.

According to Apartments.com, Reese pays more than four times the average price for a one-bedroom apartment in Chicago, which averages $1,847.

Reese also won’t get a big raise next season, bumping her annual salary with the Sky to $74,909.

The soon-to-be WNBA sophomore clearly has a financial advisor or makes enough money from her endorsement deals to not have to worry about paying nearly $100,000 a year in rent. While many have criticized the WNBA for the salaries it pays its players, Reese has set a model for how to live a lavish lifestyle while still playing in the league.
