Jose Mourinho revealed the three players he will be keeping an eye on this tournament.

Jose Mourinho has named the THREE players he will be watching with ‘sadness’ at Euro 2024.

The likes of Germany, Spain, Croatia, England and France have all kicked off their Euros campaign, with Portugal taking on Czech Republic tonight.

Fans will be treated to Cristiano Ronaldo’s first appearance of the tournament as he’ll look to inspire his national team to another European championship following their success in 2016.

And the 39-year-old is one of the three players that Mourinho will be keeping an eye on this tournament because it could be his last European championship of his legendary career.

The newly-appointed Fenerbahce manager will also be closely watching Germany’s Toni Kroos and Croatia’s Luka Modric.

“To watch Euro with sadness? Because I believe Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Cristiano Ronaldo, it is the last Euro for them,” he explained.

“And I say sadness, because players like them, we don’t see very often.”

Kroos and Modric have already played at Euro 2024 as Ronaldo is set to be in action for Portugal tonight in what will be his sixth European championship.

The Al Nassr forward believes his side ‘deserves’ to win the competition.

“I believe that this generation deserves to win a competition of this magnitude. Semifinals? I hope we can go further,” he said.

“We have to go step by step, live in the moment, be calm, work as well as we have until now, believe that it is possible. We know it’s a short competition, but the team is ready.”

On representing Portugal in another major tournament, he added: “I enjoy football, records are a consequence, not a goal, they appear naturally.

“It’s my sixth European Championship, it’s about enjoying it in the best possible way, playing well and making sure the team can win.”

Ronaldo’s Portugal are grouped with Turkey, Georgia and Czech Republic in Group F.
