The Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry has now shifted to the WNBA Rookie of the Year race.

Their teams — the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky — have faced off three times this season, with Indy holding a 2-1 advantage.

They will match up once more on Aug. 30.

Just a week ago, Clark was -1050 to win ROY, but those odds have since shortened to -2000. Reese, on the other hand, saw her odds lengthen slightly to +700 from +600 in that time frame.

Despite the shifting odds, both rookies are continuing their ascent into superstardom as they both were named All-Stars.

Reese scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the All-Star Game in Phoenix. Clark had a modest four points but did dish out 10 assists.

The All-Stars defeated Team USA 117-109.

WNBA Rookie of the Year 2024: 

Caitlin Clark, Fever: -2000 (bet $10 to win $10.50 total)
Angel Reese, Sky: +700 (bet $10 to win $80 total)

Neither of the rookies were selected to play on the 2024 Paris Olympics squad. Regarding Caitlin’s snub, “The Herd” host Colin Cowherd passionately pleaded for Clark to be placed on the squad.

“Don’t double down on dumb,” Cowherd stated. “Get her on the team. Give us a reason to watch the Olympic women’s team.”

This season, Clark notched her first-ever triple-double, which also made WNBA history.

While it seems unlikely that Reese will catch Clark on the ROY oddsboard, Angel is enjoying a historic season.

She racked up a WNBA record of 15 consecutive double-doubles before seeing her streak end when the Sky faced the New York Liberty on July 13.

Currently, Reese leads the league in rebounds per game with 12.

On a recent episode of “Undisputed,” FOX Sports contributor Rachel Nichols said if she had to pick between the two for Rookie of the Year, she gives Clark the slight edge.

“To me, Caitlin Clark is the Rookie of the Year right now. She has impacted winning in a bigger way than anyone else in the rookie class. … And her team is on pace to finish a lot better this year than it did last year. … Whereas right now, Angel Reese’s Sky are not on pace to improve.”

The Fever finished the 2023 season at 13-27. The Sky finished at 18-22.
