Caitlin Clark, the 2024 WNBA All-Star and Rookie of the Year, took a break from basketball to tee it up at The Annika Pro-Am, part of a star-studded LPGA event at Pelican Golf Club near Tampa. Clark, who has made a name for herself on the basketball court, found herself alongside some of the best in the world of golf. She teed off early on Wednesday, spending the front nine with world No. 1 Nelly Korda, before joining tournament host Annika Sorenstam for the back nine.

As the WNBA season winds down, players across the league are enjoying some well-deserved rest and relaxation. However, Indiana Fever’s rising star Caitlin Clark has decided to take a different route this offseason. Instead of unwinding, the 22-year-old basketball phenom participated in the prestigious LGPA tournament, the Annika Pro-Am, on Wednesday in Tampa, Florida. The event, known for featuring some of the best female golfers in the world, offers a purse of $3.25 million for the winner.

Clark Faces Challenges on the Golf Course

While Clark is renowned for her basketball skills, her experience on the golf course has proven to be a bit more challenging.

“Golf is hard,” Clark remarked as she took part in the competition .

Later, Clark shared a video of the incident and joked about her errant shot. “I’m so real,” she commented, laughing, “This is the greatest video ever.”

A Stellar Rookie Season in the WNBA

While Clark may not have found success on the golf course, her debut WNBA season with the Indiana Fever was nothing short of spectacular. Averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game, she led the league in assists, earning a spot on the WNBA All-Star roster and securing the 2024 Rookie of the Year award. Her impressive play helped lead the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016, finishing the season with a 20-20 record and securing the No. 6 seed in the WNBA standings.

With a bright future ahead, Clark continues to shine both on and off the court, showing that she’s just as fearless in golf as she is in basketball.
