Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes feels undervalued at Old Trafford, a fresh report has claimed.

Despite winning the FA Cup last month, United endured a dismal campaign marred by poor form, injuries and off-the-field issues.

In turn, the future of manager Erik ten Hag and much of the playing staff has been shrouded in uncertainty going into the summer transfer window.

Indeed, the Guardian has claimed that club captain Fernandes feels “undervalued” and wishes to be among their highest earners.

The Portugal star signed a deal in April 2022 worth a reported £220,000 a week that runs to 2026 with the option of a further 12 months.

In contrast, Marcus Rashford is allegedly paid a basic salary of £365,000 a week, slightly more than Casemiro, while the outcasted Jadon Sancho is on around £300,000 a week.

Fernandes, who will be 30 in September, is, as per the publication, conscious that his next contract should be the most lucrative of his career.

SPORTbible has approached Fernandes’ representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, Fernandes has insisted he remains keen to stay at United. Speaking to the Player’s Tribune last month, the United player said: “I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.

“I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing. We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard. That is what I want. That is what you all deserve.
