In a surprising revelation, Patrick McCaffery, the younger brother of Connor McCaffery, exposed an unexpected side of his brother’s personality during a recent episode of The Bulldog Bark Podcast.
Known for his calm demeanor off the court, Connor, the new assistant coach for Butler University’s basketball team, might be hiding a more competitive, fiery nature behind the scenes.
The confession has shed light on the heated dynamics between the McCaffery brothers and Connor‘s intense approach to the game.
Patrick opened up about why the two siblings avoid playing one-on-one basketball.
“Connor and I didn’t play one-on-one for a really long time because we would fight and it would get like bad like we punch each other all that kind of stuff, so like we didn’t play for a really long time,” Patrick revealed.
This revelation paints a picture of Connor‘s fierce competitiveness, which seems to follow him into his coaching role at Butler.
Connor’s Coaching Rise and Clark’s Support
Connor McCaffery, known for his sharp basketball IQ and leadership during his playing days at Iowa, has transitioned to coaching with Butler University.
His impressive career includes one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios in NCAA history, and now, as a coach, he’s applying that same intensity to help shape the next generation of players.
Amid his new coaching journey, Connor has enjoyed the full support of his girlfriend, basketball star Caitlin Clark.
The Indiana Fever point guard has been a regular presence, most recently surprising Connor at a Butler practice session, where she watched from the sidelines.
Clark also congratulated Connor on social media when he joined the Butler staff, showing her continued encouragement as he shifts from player to coach.
