Angel Reese made a ton of money while playing with the LSU Tigers. She has continued to make money now that she is in the WNBA.
The 22-year-old has been going viral after she was seen reuniting with former Sky teammate Kysre Gondrezick by making an appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City.
Reese has done extremely well for herself financially.
During a recent Instagram Live, Angel Reese opened up about her financial situation.
She claimed, “Hating pays my bills, baby. I just hope you know the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think that pays one of my bills. Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at [in Chicago]. I’m gonna do the math real quick. I don’t even know my [WNBA] salary.”
She then spoke about how much she paid for rent, which shocked some viewers.
“Yo, I’m living beyond my means!” She then turned to someone nearby and clarified, “No, my rent is actually more than that. It’s $8,000. I’m living beyond my means.” She added, “Babe, if y’all thought… I couldn’t even afford a sandwich with [the WNBA salary]. I wouldn’t even be able to live.”
The clip sparked mixed reactions online, with some suggesting she may be overspending.
One user commented, “8k for rent?! I don’t care how much I make. Ain’t that much luxury in the world.”
Another wrote, “I like Angel Reese, but she might wanna keep track of what she’s spending her money on or get a better financial advisor. That $8,000 alone in rent is just ridiculous, look into a house.”
