Lamar Jackson is not well; it’s just weeks before the start of a new season.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made his grand return to training camp after missing three days with illness, but unfortunately, it did not last very long.

Per ESPN, the two-time MVP only practiced for about an hour before heading inside with athletic trainers.

Those in attendance reported that while he was out there, he did not look like himself.

Lamar Jackson split snaps with backup Josh Johnson, throwing one completion in team drills and one interception.

During a terrible overthrow, Marlon Humphrey was able to intercept him.

Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken told reporters that he doesn’t think Jackson’s absence will cause the offense to fall behind.

“We are going to work him back in, for sure,” Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken said with a smile. “I know I’m being kind of a smartass. You’ll have to ask him how he feels. But he was great in meetings. When we were on the field at the start [of practice], he said he was feeling good.”

The Ravens will begin its preseason schedule on August 9th when they host the Philadelphia Eagles, however, Lamar Jackson is unlikely to step foot on the field until the final preseason tune-up game.

He is expected to play at some point during the preseason.

The Baltimore Ravens will officially play in the opening regular-season game against the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs on September 5th.

Lamar Jackson Coming Off Dynamic Year In 2023 But One Thing Still Alludes Him

Lamar Jackson is coming off his second career MVP season.

He threw for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns against seven interceptions while completing 67.2% of his passes.

His ground game adds to how dangerous he is after racking up 821 yards and five scores with his 148 carries.

The Ravens are expected to remain one of the AFC’s leading contenders this season, and although the team getting to the postseason is a goal, it isn’t the final goal.

Jackson is still looking for his first Super Bowl berth, and victory as playoff success continues to allude him.
