“Bryce James got in his bag”: Proud father LeBron James cheers son over weekend high school game performance

LeBron James’ younger son, Bryce James, played for the Strive For Greatness EYBL at the Elite Hoops Association circuit over the weekend. He displayed impressive defense skills and a clear long-shot range.

The highlight reel of all his best moves was posted to Instagram, and LeBron shared it to his story.

Bryce James, a guard at Sierra Canyon, is coming into his own with his versatility and natural talent. Some fans even argue that the younger James is much better at basketball than his older brother, Bronny James, and have touted him as the torch bearer to carry LeBron’s legacy forward.

LeBron James gives Bryce a lesson in trash-talking

The James family often posts videos of their backyard shoot around on social media. Fans were quick to notice that a recent practice session had somehow turned into a trash talk show.

The younger James started it all by saying, “You trash” while LeBron tried to make his shots. The ensuing basket was quickly dismissed as, “That’s a lucky shot.”

However, after his second successful attempt, LeBron did not stay quiet as he hit back with a quick lesson on who is the greatest of all time.

“Why you tripping? Why you acting like that?, James Sr. said. “Like this ain’t what I do? This is what I do, I’m GOAT bro, G. O. A. T. What’re you talk about? Stop playing with me, man.”

Later, when Bryce made a long-range shot, his father dismissed it with:

“That was too much rim.”

LeBron is fiercely supportive of both Bryce and Bronny. He can regularly be seen attending their games, sitting courtside, and cheering them on with his wife, Savannah, and mother, Gloria.

In 2018, LeBron tweeted a highlight of a young Bryce James exhibiting his impressive shooting skill and said:

“#Facts The best shooter in this household for sure! #FlameThrower”

In his junior year, Bryce has already received offers from two Division I college basketball programs, Ohio State and Duquesne.

LeBron has expressed his wish to play with his sons in the NBA. Right now, Bronny has a better chance of making that happen. However, given his sub-par performances, it is still doubtful if teams will be willing to draft him. On the other hand, Bryce James still has two more years before he will be eligible to play in the league.
