A high school girls’ basketball game had to recently be forfeited by one team at halftime due to injuries.

The Collegiate Charter School of Lowell reportedly forfeited its game against Kipp Academy as Kipp featured a transgender player on its roster that caused multiple injuries in the physical game.

Kipp Academy was leading the game, 31-14. Due to the rules, it will go down as a 10-0 win via forfeit.

The male student reportedly stood over 6-feet-tall with visible facial hair. The transgender was not a new player as the person has been on the roster since the beginning of the season.

A short clip from the video has been making rounds on social media platforms, further amplifying the debate of whether or not transgenders should be allowed to participate in the women’s circuit.

KIPP Academy also offers a boys’ basketball team.

The Post Millennial says Collegiate Charter School of Lowell already had a depleted roster as four players couldn’t play coming into the game. Once three more girls went down in the, the coach made the decision to end the game.

The coaches of the two teams have yet to publicly acknowledge that the presence of a male student competing against an all-girls’ team led to the forfeit.

Kyle Pelczar, athletic director at Collegiate, stated the decision to forfeit the game was made by team coach Kevin Ortins.

Unlike years before, young women are dealing with the frustration of males deciding to play in their sports and dominate as a result.
