Another Man Utd player will leave on free transfer this summer amid interest from 'several clubs'

It appears another player will leave Manchester United as a free agent this summer – just three months after he made his first Premier League start.

The much-talked-about rebuild under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team is well underway.

Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund were recently named as the only players who are off-limits to any interested parties, with the trio being identified as those to build the team around.

The rest of the squad, meanwhile, are seen as available for transfer.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen have been linked with moves, while Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Brandon Williams are all set to leave on a free.

Now, with the transfer window in sight, it looks like another player will depart when their contract expires at the end of the month.

Omari Forson, who made seven appearances for United during the 2023/24 campaign, is set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the month, according to Fabrizio Romano.

“After his debut in February with [the] Man Utd first team, Omari is set for a new chapter,” the transfer expert wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Romano went on to suggest that “several” clubs have expressed an interest in signing the England youth international.

This news may come as a surprise to many United fans. Back in February, Erik ten Hag was full of praise for Forson after he handed him his full debut against Fulham.

When asked to explain the decision to give Forson his chance, Ten Hag said: “Because he deserves the position. Lately, he’s performing very well.”

He added: “Over the last half year, he’s worked very hard, showed his progression and when he came on against Wolves and Newport, he had some impact.”

After that performance against Fulham in February, a report from The Athletic emerged suggesting Forson was yet to sign the competitive terms that had been offered by the club.

They also stated Ten Hag was “fond” of the player but it appears the United youth product will look for a new challenge this summer.
