The WNBA season has been entertaining from the very beginning. Top rookies such as Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, and Angel Reese have made the WNBA a must-watch on a regular basis.
With the season getting closer to the playoff stretch, the debate between Clark and Reese for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award will begin to heat up more.
The comparisons between the two rookies has certainly been a hot topic all year and will continue for as long as they are playing at a high level in the WNBA.
However, Dallas Wings star Arika Ogunbowale made her thoughts clear on the Clark-Reese “rivalry” and even said it is “funny”, per Yahoo Sports.
“I do think the Angel-Caitlin thing is funny,” Ogunbowale said. “They’re two totally different positions, and the media tries to make them be competitors…It’s really not a rivalry.”
Ogunbowale has a valid point. Clark is a point guard who facilitates the ball and scores at a high level. The Indiana Fever rookie is averaging 18 PPG with 8.2 assists and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 41 percent from the field.
Reese is a forward who plays down low more often than not. The rookie from LSU is averaging 13.5 PPG with 12.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Chicago Sky.

Reese, Clark, and Ogunbowale all shared the court together as members of Team WNBA in the All-Star Game. Team WNBA won 117-109 over Team USA, and Ogunbowale led the way with 34 points in the game.
During college, Clark and Reese had their run-ins during March Madness, but now they are both focused on playing at a high level and eventually winning a WNBA title.
The Wings star doesn’t consider the Reese-Clark debate a rivalry at all. Rather, just two great players playing well in their respective positions.
The Sky and Fever play each other on Friday night in Chicago, so it should be an entertaining game.
