WNBA is ‘intent on killing its golden goose’ Caitlin Clark amid ‘white privilege’ debate, analyst claims
Caitlin Clark‘s admission to the existence of white privilege has turned conservatives pundits’ favorite WNBA star into a target for criticism.
The latest round of pearl clutching comes from Outkick.com’s Clay Travis, who ran a less-than-scientific poll about the league’s future in the aftermath of Clark’s comments.
‘Will you watch Caitlin Clark games less now that she has apologized for her white privilege and bent the knee to the woke lunatics running the WNBA?’ Travis asked on X.
Followers of Travis, an outspoken conservative, predictably followed his cue as nearly 70 percent voted to say they’re done with the league.
‘I want to say I’ve earned every single thing, but as a white person, there is privilege,’ Clark told Time.
‘A lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been black players,’ she continued. ‘This league has kind of been built on them.

Clay Travis ran a less-than-scientific poll about the league’s future after Clark’s comments
‘The more we can appreciate that, highlight that, talk about that, and then continue to have brands and companies invest in those players that have made this league incredible. I think it’s very important. I have to continue to try to change that.
‘The more we can elevate black women, that’s going to be a beautiful thing.’
Her comments ignited uproar among conservatives, notably from commentator and podcaster Megyn Kelly who bemoaned Clark’s ‘self-flagellation’.
‘She’s on the knee all but apologizing for being white and getting attention. The self-flagellation,’ Kelly, an outspoken Roman Catholic, wrote on social media.
The ”oh pls pay attention to the black players who are REALY the ones you want to celebrate.” Condescending. Fake. Transparent. Sad.’
Kelly has long made race a central subject of her various shows over the years, once insisting Jesus of Nazareth was ‘white’ only to later admit his race is ‘far from settled.’
Conservative podcaster Jason Whitlock was claimed he actually cried over Clark’s comments.
‘She just basically in this Time interview said ‘hey Whitlock, I don’t like you and all you evangelical conservatives that hopped on board with me.’ I’m with the woke basketball association. I’m with the feminists, I’m with the lesbians,’ Whitlock said.

Moment Caitlin Clark finds out she won WNBA Rookie of the Year
Clark never mentioned Whitlock, who has long criticized the WNBA’s gay players.
‘Holy cow,’ he continued. ‘I did cry this morning reading the Time magazine article. It’s worse than just the excerpts. It is systematic, the destruction of her. She has been conquered and I knew this was a possibility – I was halfway predicting this.
‘She has been sent to the very, very frontline of the culture war. This LBQBTQ heterosexual war, the whole gender warfare going on, the WNBA is a feminist, woke stronghold. Perhaps the strongest of all the strongholds the satanic left hold.
Clark found herself at the center of a race storm during her first season in the WNBA amid accusations she was the victim of jealousy and bullying. Although it’s important to note that Clark never claimed to be the victim anything, often deflecting criticism of opponents and minimizing controversy with reporters.
In one moment that captured the attention across the nation, the Fever star was shoved to the ground by Chicago Sky’s Chennedy Carter, who became the subject of significant vitriol of social media.
Some figures, meanwhile, have also claimed that black players are not given the recognition they deserve.
‘It doesn’t matter how hard I work,’ said A’ja Wilson, of the Las Vegas Aces, in May.
‘It doesn’t matter what we all do as black women, we’re still going to be swept underneath the rug.’
