The Chicago Bears have signed another veteran Pro Bowl safety to replace longtime fan favorite Eddie Jackson, who was released in a cap-saving move last month.

According to CBS Sports NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Bears have signed former Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles safety Kevin Byard to a two-year contract. Byard was cut by Philly in a cap-saving move last week.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added that Byard’s two-year pact is worth $15 million.

A two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro, Byard was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Titans midseason. For his career, Byard has 28 interceptions, 66 pass defenses and 749 combined tackles.
