The Cincinnati Bengals have announced that they’re set for a massive change as it pertains to their grounds.

The AFC outfit has revealed that a new turf will be installed at the Paycor Stadium ahead of the upcoming 2024 season as they’re set to return to the FieldTurf surface they had from 2004-2011.

The change will make them the eighth NFL team featuring FieldTurf, with the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, New York Jets, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks all relying on said surface.

“In an ongoing effort to maintain Paycor Stadium at the highest levels, a new FieldTurf field will be installed as part of offseason stadium upgrades,” the Bengals announced via their official website on Thursday.

“The selection comes after a thorough review process that considered the major players in the artificial turf industry, collaboration with the NFL and its testing requirements, and stadium and football experts.

“Player safety and performance data drove the selection of a monofilament product, consistent with NFL recommendations.”

Hamilton County Commissioners approved the change at a commission meeting this Thursday. It will count as one of the improvements suggested when funding was greenlit during the winter.

“Hamilton County and the Bengals are committed to providing a top-level playing surface for NFL games, and this step confirms that commitment,” Paycor Stadium Managing Director Steve Johnson said. “The field will be installed in time for the entire 2024 NFL season.”
