ESPN has made a decision on Pat McAfee following his surprising comments on Friday.

Following an already drama-filled period kicked off by Aaron Rodgers calling Jimmy Kimmel out, McAfee ramped things up by going after ESPN’s head of events and studio production Norby Williamson, whom he accused of trying to sabotage ‘The Pat McAfee Show’.

 

“There are folks actively trying to sabotage us from within ESPN. More specifically, I believe Norby Williamson is the guy attempting to sabotage our program,” he said.

“I’m not 100 percent sure. That is just seemingly the only human that has information, and then somehow that information gets leaked and it’s wrong and then it sets a narrative of what our show is. And then are we just going to combat that from a rat every single time? I don’t know.”

While the former kicker may have crossed the line, CNBC is reporting that the network doesn’t plan to suspend him and is investigating what may have happened to prompt what he said.“There is no planned suspension for McAfee, and ESPN hopes to find a path forward for both Williamson and McAfee, according to a person familiar with the matter.”

It appears McAfee’s off the hook, at least for now.
