A popular NFL superfan passed away this Sunday morning.

Legendary Detroit Lions fan Larry Benjamin is said to have died in his sleep, according to his son, who shared the news on social media.

Benjamin had gone viral for dying his hair blue to match that of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown last season.

“To everyone who supported my Dad’s blue hair pursuit of the Lions Super Bowl, know that he is now in peace,” Jeff Benjamin wrote. He passed away in his sleep earlier this morning. @amonra_stbrown Thanks for all the love!”

Larry was treated to a magical 2023 campaign in which the Lions got close to making the Super Bowl. He shared a phone call with St. Brown during the team’s playoff run.

“It’s awesome,” the wideout said before the call. “I saw it, someone sent it to me, one of my friends and a lot of people ended up sending it to me. It’s just awesome to see. It’s humbling as a player to know you can touch other people’s lives just by playing a sport and being who I am.”

Benjamin referred to Brown as “a well-spoken young man” after they broke words. He was also sent a signed No. 14 jersey with a message reading, “Larry the man! Keep being a beast! Best fans in the world! One Pride!”

R.I.P, Larry.
