Former Las Vegas Raiders first-round pick Damon Arnette was arrested last month, a new report states.

According to Ian Rapoport and Clayton Holloway of NFL Network, the former NFL cornerback was arrested last month in Richardson, Texas for possession of under a graham of meth and the unlawful possession of a firearm. Richardson is approximately 37 miles north of Dallas.

Unfortunately, Arnette’s football career was quickly derailed by off-the-field issues. During his 2021 sophomore year, a viral video showed Arnette carrying a gun and uttering threats, prompting the Raiders to cut ties with him.

Less than three months after his arrest, the Ohio State product was arrested for gun-related charges in Las Vegas. Arnette accepted a plea deal and avoided jail time. He was ordered to pay $2,000 in fines and do 50 hours of community service.

Arnette had signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in January 2022, but this arrest led to the team releasing him. No team has signed Arnette ever since. In July of that year, Arnette was arrested for driving with a suspended license and for possessing a drug and a controlled substance.

Before he was released by the Raiders in 2021, Arnette appeared in 13 NFL games (seven starts) over two seasons. He notched three pass defenses and 29 combined tackles.

We’ll be sure to provide more details on Arnette’s arrest when they become available.
