The Tennessee Titans fired coach Mike Vrabel in January.

Vrabel is highly respected across the league, which is why so many were surprised by the Titans’ decision to fire him. Many assumed it would not take long for him to find a new job, but deep into March, he was still available.

That changed on Friday.

Adam Schefter reported that the Browns are hiring former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel as a “coaching and personnel consultant.”

The Falcons interviewed him for their head coaching job but decided to hire Raheem Morris.

It’s a smart move for Vrabel to wait as he could easily find himself with another head coaching opportunity next year. As we all know, teams can be very impatient with head coaches.

In six years with the Titans, Vrabel has compiled a record of 52-41 with three playoff appearances and a 2-3 playoff record.

For his efforts, he was named the 2021 coach of the year.
