The Chiefs still have about $20 million in cap space remaining.

Patrick Mahomes is in the middle of his 10-year, $450 million deal with Kansas City. Because of the restructured deal, the future Hall of Fame quarterback will carry a cap hit of $38,808,269 and a dead cap value of $79,800,545 heading into 2025.

Chris Jones’ decision to adjust his contract showcases the positive relationship the star defensive tackle has developed with the franchise. A few years ago, the six-time Pro Bowler had a highly publicized holdout that looked like it was going to end his time in Kansas City.
