Saquon Barkley in uniform
It appears Saquon Barkley will be rocking a different uniform for the first time in his NFL career.

A new report says the New York Giants and the running back are “probably headed towards a divorce”, per Ralph Vacchiano.

Barkley has been with the Giants since they drafted him second overall in 2018. He agreed to play the 2023 season on a revised franchise tag after the two sides failed to agree on a long-term contract following the team signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a lucrative deal.

He signed a one-year contract in July that paid him $10.1 million, which included a $2 million signing bonus.

The 26-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year opens in March and all signs are pointing to him heading elsewhere.

The former Penn State star rushed for a career-high 1,312 yards in helping New York make the playoffs last season in Brian Daboll’s first season as head coach.

Barkley played in 14 games in the 2023 season and managed to rush for a total of 962 yards and scored six touchdowns.
