Meghan Markle reportedly thinks Prince Harry “can’t trust” Prince William, 41, as he pushes for a reunion with his brother and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Sussex thinks her husband, the Duke of Sussex, is “naive”, and her main concern is that he’s being “hurt” again.

Meghan, according to OK! magazine, is fine with the idea of not having the Prince and Princess of Wales in her life. An earlier report claimed Meghan felt Kate should “support” her as a royal “outsider”.

However, it’s a different story with Harry. He’s said to want to reconnect with his brother and sister-in-law, and Meghan is sceptical about the whole situation.

“Meghan would never mind if she didn’t see William and Kate again,” a source told the outlet. “[She] is saddened to learn that there is no relationship between her children and George, Charlotte and Louis. She would love for that to happen, but the Wales family have made it clear that they do not want that.”

William and Kate have three children; Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan have two children; Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

“But deep down she knows that Harry wants to fix the relationship,” they continued, before adding that Kate’s cancer diagnosis, for which she is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy, is pushing Harry. “The news about Kate has made him more determined to try and make it happen. But she thinks Harry is being naive and he still can’t trust William.”

“She’s scared that he’ll be made fun of again, and that William will take advantage of him,” they explained. “She knows that she makes better decisions than Harry because she won’t let her emotions get the best of her. But she’s scared that she’s losing control of this situation.”

As for Meghan, her brother-in-law wants nothing to do with a potential relationship. In part, that’s because the 41-year-old has never met his brother during his visits to the UK.

“She feels William has made it clear that he doesn’t want to reconcile and hasn’t made any effort,” the insider said. “He can easily spend time with Harry when he’s in the UK.”

Harry last visited the UK in February 2024, when he visited his father and William, King Charles III, after the monarch announced his cancer diagnosis. Reports at the time said Harry had not seen William.

The source went on to say that the reunion isn’t solely up to Harry, but that it’s important that Meghan doesn’t want to see Harry “hurt.”

“It’s not about Harry,” they said. “But given the current situation, there’s a way that William could extend an olive branch. Meghan just doesn’t want to see him hurt again because it’s taken him years to finally get over the fallout.”

Regardless of whether Harry does go ahead with the reunion, the two royal couples could find themselves in the same place more than they have in years this summer. (They have only spoken publicly once, in March 2024, when Harry and Meghan issued a brief statement after Kate was diagnosed with cancer.)

In May 2024, Harry—and possibly Meghan, Archie, and Lili—will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. A ceremony is scheduled at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, England, where Harry is expected to speak.

William and Kate are not expected to attend the ceremony. However, Harry reportedly wants Meghan and the children to come with him so they can all visit the royal family. This would mean William, Kate, and their three children could meet the Sussexes in person.

If they don’t get together for the Invictus celebrations, there will be another chance for a reunion later in the summer. King Charles could invite Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lili to Balmoral, the royal family’s longtime summer retreat in Scotland.

Traditionally, the royals join the monarch at the estate to end the season. This year, that means William, Harry and their respective families will be in attendance, bringing the pair to a location that one source told Page Six was “perfect” for a reunion.

All of this comes with a big asterisk, as it’s unclear at the time of writing whether Meghan, Archie and Lili will travel to the UK with Harry. Plus, whether King Charles will invite them to Balmoral.

What’s certain is that Harry and Meghan will have a busy schedule ahead, with two new Netflix shows in the works and the launch of American Riviera Orchard.
