Randy Moss is considered one of, if not the greatest, receivers in the NFL’s over 100-year history. He is a Hall of Fame receiver, meaning he has achieved the highest regard in terms of football after a career spanned over ten seasons.
Many NFL fans may not know that the former all-pro receiver has a son who also has played a pass-catching position, though not to the degree that his father once did. Former LSU tight end Thaddeus Moss has retired after being cut by the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Moss, who celebrated his 27th birthday on May 14th, was cut on the first day of training camp. He has officially decided to call it a career after never really breaking into the NFL like his father once did.
In a post to his social media, Moss stated, “It is always important to know when something has reached its end.” He further added, “Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters… …to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.”
Randy Moss’ Son Thaddeus Has Officially Retired From Football Thanks Sport
Thaddeus finished the momentous post by saying “thank you” and added the hashtag retired to the end of the post, confirming the former LSU-standouts retirement from the game that has given his family so much.
Thaddeus Moss holds the record for the most passing yards in a season by an LSU tight end after finishing the 2019 season with 47 receptions for 570 yards and four touchdowns, which was capped off by a Peach Bowl victory over Oklahoma.
After college, Moss trained with the Washington Commanders in 2020 before seeing action in Cincinnati in 2021. He was cut in August and was most recently on the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats training camp roster before being cut.
We wish Thaddeus Moss well in his retirement and life after football.
