It sounds as though one of the greatest players in Philadelphia Eagles history is getting ready to call it a career.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, All-Pro center Jason Kelce is not the only franchise icon that Philly may lose to retirement. It’s expected that veteran defensive tackle Fletcher Cox will hang up the cleats “at some point” during the offseason:

“ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last month that Eagles center Jason Kelce told teammates he is retiring, and I’ve talked to multiple sources who believe defensive tackle Fletcher Cox will probably retire at some point this offseason, too. Now, retirements are tricky — plans are malleable as players emerge from the haze of the season — but there’s a real possibility the Eagles will be replacing two legends at once.”

The 33-year-old Cox was drafted 12th overall by the Eagles back in 2012. He has spent his entire career with the organization, leading the franchise to its first Super Bowl championship back in the 2017 season.

A virtual lock to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, Cox is a six-time Pro Bowler with one First-team and three Second-team All-Pro nods to his name. He was also named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team.

Cox has recorded 70 career sacks, 16 pass defenses and as many forced fumbles in 188 career regular season games.
