We now know why Tyreek Hill’s home went up in flames.
On Wednesday, 20 units from Davie Fire Rescue Department, Southwest Ranches Volunteer Fire Department and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed to Hill’s two-story mansion that had been engulfed in flames and categorized as a 2-alarm fire.
The fire that swept through Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill’s South Florida mansion Wednesday is said to have been caused by kids.
Officials revealed that the cause of the fire was a young child playing with a lighter.
“A spokesperson for the Davie Fire Department in Florida confirmed to TMZ Sports that investigators believe a youngster inside a bedroom at Hill’s Southwest Ranches home started the blaze,” TMZ Sports reported.
“It’s unclear if the child is related to Hill or how exactly it was able to ignite the flames — though according to the DFP rep, because officials formally identified it all as “accidental,” no further investigations are taking place.”
The fire destroyed part of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s $7 million South Florida mansion.
The 29-year-old Hill has four children under the age of 10.
Hill was not at his home when the fire broke out. He was at the Dolphins’ practice in Miami Gardens, but once he was told about what was going on, he left practice and met up with his wife and mother outside the house.
In the meantime, Hill has put up 1,717 yards this season and is only 247 yards away from breaking Calvin Johnson’s single-season receiving yard record.
The team has a pivotal Week 18 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
