The Washington Commanders are headed into the Jayden Daniels era, which means one quarterback on the roster had to be Jake Fromm, unfortunately.

The Washington Commanders have released depth quarterback Jake Fromm, the team announced Tuesday.

After some solid preseason performances, Fromm spent all of last season on Washington’s practice squad.

Jake Fromm has yet to play in a regular game since appearing in three games with the Giants during the 2021 season. Heading into training camp, he’ll look to land in another quarterback room.

In the 2021 season, Fromm appeared in three games for the Giants and passed for 210 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.

From 2017 to 2019, former Washington Commanders QB Jake Fromm started all three years at the University of Georgia. During the 2017 season, Fromm assisted Georgia in winning a College Football Playoff game and an SEC championship.

In his rookie campaign, Fromm replaced Jacob Eason as Georgia’s starting quarterback, and the team finished 13-2. The Bulldogs went on to win the Rose Bowl and the SEC Championship. They were on the verge of winning the national championship, but Alabama overcame a third-quarter deficit of 20–7 to prevail.

Fromm’s skills improved during his second year. Still, Georgia was eliminated from the playoffs following another Alabama comeback victory, so the team could not achieve its dream of winning a national championship.

Before losing badly to LSU in the SEC Championship Game, Fromm led UGA to an 11-1 regular season record during his junior year.

Fromm threw for 8,224 yards and 78 touchdowns in three seasons at Georgia, via Sports Reference.

The Bills drafted quarterback Jake Fromm from Georgia in the fifth round with the 167th pick.
