The Indiana Fever is finally getting momentum in the league after facing multiple losses. Thanks to Caitlin Clark for bringing on her A game, which helped the franchise secure their third back-to-back win and ended her night with yet another record.

According to StatMamba, Clark became the only WNBA rookie guard after former player Sidney Spencer (in 2007) to score more than one double-double in a season.

Though Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell scored a team-high 22 points each, Clark’s outstanding double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, coupled with 6 assists, in the 88-81 against the Washington Mystics stole the show on Wednesday.

This was the 22-year-old’s second time scoring a double-double in the WNBA and her first time was against the Los Angeles Sparks last month. Clark did get a few more opportunities in between to bag the record earlier, but she missed them by an inch.

She is averaging 16.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.3 steals and a block per game. Clark is having an impressive first season like her fellow rookies, though the Sparks forward Cameron Brink has faced a major blow that broke the former Iowa star’s heart.

Caitlin Clark Reacts to Cameron Brink’s Injury

During a game against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, Brink slipped on the hardwood while running for a bucket and tore her ACL. This unfortunate incident disheartened Caitlin Clark.

Calling Brink’s injury “devastating”, Clark told media, “You don’t want to see anybody deal with any sort of injury, and obviously not one of that magnitude. I know that she’s the type of person that will be able to get through it, and come out stronger, but it just breaks your heart.”

With her average of 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in this regular season, Brink clinched her spot in the USA Team to represent in the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, after this injury, the former Stanford star would miss the entire season and the Olympics. This could also open the international doors for Caitlin Clark, who was not selected for the national team.
