Basketball fans all know the relentless competitor Caitlin Clark on the court, but compared to other contemporary WNBA stars like Angel Reese, she does not give much away about her personality. When a reporter dug deeper on Clark’s true self, her answer came out of nowhere.

Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides jumped back in astonishment when she found out the first thing that came to Clark’s mind when asked what she loves besides basketball.

Caitlin Clark’s life outside basketball

It seemed like the type of question aimed at learning more about the 22-year-old’s hobbies or passions or pets. We know that Caitlin loves High School Musical, Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend Connor McCaffery, but outside of that, she keeps her cards close to her chest.

Weary-eyed Clark, probably tired from her extra workouts before practice this preseason, divulged her love for homemade baked goods, and that got Sides’ attention.

“I like warm chocolate chip cookies. So, I guess that,” Clark said with an exhausted giggle.

“When my mom would come to my games at Iowa, she would always bring a dessert or something for my teammates and the coaching staff. We’ll have to keep that going,” she said, sparking welcoming smiles from Sides and teammate Aliyah Boston at the podium.

Ann Clark, if you’re hearing this,” the Fever star called out to her mom, before Sides jumped in and finished the sentence, “warm cookies!”

When is Caitlin Clark’s next game?

The Fever’s first chance to sample the Clark family recipes will be May 16, according to Caitlin. Her mom is planning to attend their highly anticipated showdown with the 2023 WNBA Finalist New York Liberty.

Before that, Indiana plays the Atlanta Dream in its final preseason game on Thursday, May 9 and opens the WNBA regular season on the road May 14 against the Connecticut Sun.
