Cooper DeJean and the Philadelphia Eagles are facing the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.
DeJean is a crucial member of the Eagles’ defense in his first NFL season as a rookie out of Iowa. The No. 40 draft pick is a key defensive starter in the secondary and Philadelphia’s best punt return option.
Earlier this week, DeJean fielded a unique question about one of his former University of Iowa classmates: Caitlin Clark.
DeJean was asked if any NFL-WNBA player duo could beat him and Clark in a game of 2-on-2 basketball.
“We’re beating anybody. Anybody you throw in front of us. That’s the first time I’ve heard of me and her on the same team, so I love that,” DeJean replied.
DeJean famously made waves around the sporting world before the 2024 NFL draft when he said he could beat Clark in a game of 1-on-1.
“A lot of teams have asked me if I could beat Caitlin Clark 1-on-1,” DeJean said last year. “I said I think I can. She’d probably score a few buckets on me but I think I could pull it off.”
“She texted me and said that she doesn’t think that I could beat her,” DeJean later added.

“I really wanted to play basketball coming out of high school. I wanted to play in college,” he continued. “I stuck with football. Football was probably the better option for me.”
