Caitlin Clark Just Posted a Rare Personal Throwback, and It’s Adorable
Caitlin Clark WNBA debut

Caitlin Clark has always been a baller. The WNBA star has played basketball since she was a kid, and she just shared a rare, and adorable, glimpse of her early days in the game.

“Time flies🖤✨,” she captioned a two-pic Instagram post of herself nowadays playing for the Indiana Fever, contrasted with herself on the court in middle school. In both pictures, she has her hair pulled back into a ponytail and secured with an elastic headband. It was her look in high school too.

“Where has the time gone,” Clark’s fellow University of Iowa alum and WNBA player Kate Martin commented on the post. “Dawwww so cute, miss you & always proud of you,” added former teammate Gabbie Marshall.

This post is a rare instance of Clark revealing anything personal on social media, even if it’s just a throwback. She is basically not on social media for mental health reasons, likely letting her team handle posts and not reading the comments. Fellow superstar athlete Serena Williams praised Clark’s lack of online presence recently, telling the Associated Press, “I love that she tries to stay grounded.… She says she doesn’t look at her social [media]. I get it. I don’t either. I think it’s so important to just continue to do what she’s doing. No matter what other people do. If people are negative, it’s because they can’t do what you do, basically. Hopefully she’ll continue to do what she’s doing.”

Still, it’s nice that she felt comfortable sharing this old picture, because it really is adorable, not to mention inspiring for the next generation of basketball players, who will remember that Thee Caitlin Clark was once just like them.

When she’s not rocking the ponytail-and-headband combo on the court, Clark is trying her hand at the fashion game, appearing at recent matches in designer outfits like a patterned Fendi set and matching purse. Two words: Go Caitlin!
