Clark recently surpassed Lynette Woodward for the most points scored in major women’s college basketball history.
The reigning AP Player of the Year has been credited with a surge in interest in women’s basketball.
Clark has gone early with her declaration for April’s WNBA Draft, announcing the news before March Madness.
“While this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa, “Clark wrote in a statement on X.
“I am excited to be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft.
“It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at Iowa – my teammates, who made the last four years the best.
“My coaches, trainers, and staff who always let me be me.
“Hawkeye fans who filled Carver every night, and everyone who came out to support us across the country, especially the young kids.
“Most importantly, none of this would have been possible without my family and friends who have been by my side through it all. Because of all of you, my dreams came true.”
Clark is just 18 points short of Pete Maravich’s all-time college scoring record of 3,667.
The Hawkeyes star could pass the milestone on Sunday when Ohio State visit the Williams Arena.
Clark began her hoops career at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa.
She was receiving interest from D-1 schools as early as the seventh grade, per The Daily Iowan.
Standing 6-foot tall, Clark committed to Iowa in November 2019 and began her freshman season as their starting point guard.
By the end of her junior year, she had played in 100 career games for the Hawkeyes.
Clark has averaged 32.2 points per contest during her senior season, a career-high.
She will forgo her fifth-year eligibility to declare for April 15’s Draft.
