Cardi B Intensifies Efforts to Retrieve $4 Million from Tasha K Following Kevin Hart Lawsuit
In a recent legal development, Cardi B has submitted a new motion to acquire details about all remaining assets owned by Tasha K, aiming to commence the collection process for the $4 million judgment imposed on the controversial blogger.
Court documents obtained by HipHopDX reveal Cardi B’s demand for information on Tasha K’s assets, including a residence in Georgia and the cash at her disposal. Additional documents, also examined by HipHopDX, indicate that Tasha K, whose real name is LaTasha Kebe, currently holds nearly $30,000 in cash and spends over $20,000 each month on various expenses such as travel, fine dining, and entertainment.
This legal action follows a similar lawsuit initiated by comedian Kevin Hart against the host of “Unwine with Tasha K.” Hart accused Tasha K, along with his former assistant, of extortion after she released an interview with the assistant, alleging Hart’s infidelity. The comedian claimed that Tasha K demanded payment to prevent the interview from being made public.
The subpoenas filed by Cardi B’s team are a continuation of those sent during the summer, targeting Tasha K’s banking institutions. Cardi B demanded financial information and communications involving third parties, including the Internal Revenue Service, related to Tasha K’s finances, employment, income, expenses, businesses, or business interests.
In a recent Instagram Live session, Cardi B expressed her frustration with Tasha K for conducting an interview with Brother Bilaal, who made allegations against actor Will Smith. Cardi B highlighted the need for people to discern the truth and raised concerns about the impact of false narratives on mental health.
The legal dispute between Cardi B and Tasha K dates back to 2019 when the rapper sued the blogger for engaging in what she believed was a malicious smear campaign. The false statements included accusations of herpes, unconventional activities during her time as an exotic dancer, involvement in prostitution, and cocaine abuse. Cardi B was awarded over $2.5 million in damages and an additional $1.3 million in legal fees last January. Tasha K subsequently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, revealing limited assets and financial resources.
As Cardi B seeks to collect the judgment, the legal battle between the rapper and Tasha K continues to unfold.
