Cardi B Warns Against Buttocks Injections After Having Hers Removed
Cardi B delivered a stern piece of advice on Instagram Live recently to people who might be considering a type of plastic surgery for their buttocks: “Don’t!”
The hip-hop superstar was specifically talking about an enhancement known as Brazilian butt lifts. On its website, the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery describes a Brazilian butt lift as a procedure that involves a cosmetic surgeon using “specialized fat transfer techniques to achieve a fuller, rounder buttock contour.”
Cardi B said her message was directed toward younger fans who might sometimes feel they’re too thin and need back enhancement. She also told her 144 million followers that if someone is considering the procedure, they should follow a physician’s advice first.
“When it comes to BBLs [Brazilian butt lifts], if y’all want advice from me, before you get your BBL done, you have to make sure your blood levels are all right,” she said in a video captured and posted by the YouTube account Andy Appleseed TV.
She added, “If a doctor says your blood levels are too low, or you have diabetes or whatever, don’t do it.”

In the Instagram Live video, Cardi revealed she had 95 percent of her buttock fillers removed in August.
“It was a really crazy process,” she said.
Cardi also admitted to having rhinoplasty while speaking in the Instagram clip, noting she was not happy with her nose before.
In a 2018 interview with GQ, Cardi talked about how she originally had the buttocks enhancement done. In graphic detail, Cardi said got the filler injected illegally in a basement apartment in Queens for $800.
“It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days,” she told the magazine.
Cardi has also spoken openly in the past about other cosmetic procedures she’s undergone. Speaking with Mariah Carey in a 2021 feature for Interview, she talked about dancing at a strip club in her youth, which she said allowed her to save up enough money to afford beast implants.
She told Carey that she had “felt insecure” about her looks when she was young, but the breast and buttocks enhancements made her “super confident.”
The Instagram plastic surgery talk is just one example of how busy Cardi has been on social media recently.
After a Twitter user posted a video of her show last weekend at Miami’s Art Basel with a caption mocking her for playing in “someone’s backyard,” she responded by saying she made “1 million dollars to perform at this elite bankers private event for 400 people and only for 35 minutes.”
On Monday, she targeted Casey Anthony on Twitter following the release of the Peacock docuseries Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies.
Anthony made headlines in 2008 when she was charged with first-degree murder over the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony. After a high-profile trial, a jury acquitted Casey Anthony of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. However, she was found guilty on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.
In the docuseries, Anthony alleges her father had sexually abused her when she was a child and was involved in Caylee’s death. (Her father has vehemently denied the claims.) Ultimately, Anthony said she doesn’t know how Caylee died.
“I don’t give a deum how they flip it, switch it, turn it, toss it Casey Anthony is a disgrace of a mother and she shouldn’t have a uterus,” Cardi tweeted. “I don’t feel bad for her or for the daddy YALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED to that baby!!!!”
