Now that Cardi B has filed for divorce (again) from Offset, her friends are REALLY hoping she “sticks to her decision” this time!

This week was a busy one for the rapper as she not only filed for divorce from the Migos alum but also revealed she’s pregnant with her third child. The divorce bombshell came amid cheating allegations, but a rep for the WAP artist told People on Thursday that her decision was “not based on cheating rumors, but rather has been a long time coming.”

Fans will remember she actually first filed for a split back in 2020, but the pair were able to work things out. This time, though? Well, her friends are hoping they DON’T make amends — which says a lot!

A pal of the Bodak Yellow vocalist told the outlet that a divorce is “something that they had been discussing and talking about for a while.” They expressed:

“It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, she woke up one day, some incident happened, and this was it.’ She’s been very calm about everything, and she’s focused on her kids. She is excited about this new baby, and she’s recording, so everything with her is actually pretty good.”

The couple had reportedly been having issues “at least a year or so,” and so far, the decision seems “amicable” and “her friends just want her to be happy.” They added:

“We’ve seen them break up, get back together, break up, get back together, and it’s like we just want her to stick to her decision and just enjoy her f**king life. You’re so successful. You’ve come so far in your career, just enjoy your life.”

It’s likely fans will get to hear Cardi’s thoughts on all this sooner than expected since she’s been hard at work on her new album, which the source said is “coming at some point this year,” noting the musician has “been in the studio every night.” The insider dished:

“She’s finishing up recording right now. There’s no exact date, but this situation is not changing anything with music.”

Cardi hinted as much on Instagram when opening up about the bun in the oven, saying that her children have “reminded [her] that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion” and have “shown [her] why it’s worth it to push through.” Amazing!

Now, if you haven’t been keeping up, the cheating rumors were all about Offset allegedly hooking up with a woman from his past. And they’re far from the first infidelity allegations he’s faced since being with Cardi! Interestingly, he doesn’t exactly seem to be denying that part of the headlines.

He reacted to the divorce in a truly odd way — by taking to IG to “like” a post about how he was “slapped with divorce papers amid being accused of cheating.” Kinda a strange thing for him to like, but maybe this was his (not-so) subtle way of confirming it all? Or maybe he was really reacting to the quote about this being “something she wants to do” — as in, maybe it wasn’t his decision?? Hmm.

Aside from that social media activity, he also posted an IG Story video of himself rapping along to an unreleased song on Thursday, in which he said he is “single” and “this tension is old.” So, that suggests this split is amicable! If the song is about his estranged wife, anyway. That would certainly be nice — but with young kids in the mix, this kind of breakup is bound to get messy. Fingers crossed it doesn’t, though!
