As one of boxing’s biggest-yet-controversial fights of the year approaches, a rejuvenated ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson aims to surprise the world as he takes on the 27-year-old Jake Paul, a man aiming to pad his CV with more victories against the best of yesteryear.
With just two days separating the pair from fight night, skeptics have had a change of tune, with Tyson’s demeanour on the mic, his physique, and his work during the open workout leading many to believe this bout might not be as clear-cut as it seems. However, one British boxing legend has revealed a clause in the fight’s contract that means one outcome is not possible, and it would be Tyson’s favoured one.
A fight that has been on the lips of boxing fans since it was revealed, many are surprised that fight night has been allowed to come this close without any interference, with the prospect of a primed 27-year-old facing off against a 58-year-old, who has already lived a boxing career, leaving many worried at what could happen
However, ‘Iron’ Mike has defied all odds and is approaching fight night in a state that has left many wondering if he could end his career on winning terms, with this result set to be on the fighter’s records. A record for Tyson that is 50-6, the Baddest Man on the Planet found himself on the right side of 44 knockouts in his career, a feat that led him to being dubbed one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
For Tyson’s opponent, the former YouTuber and Disney star, Jake Paul, he has a career record of 10-1, with a split-decision defeat against Tommy Fury being the only blemish on an impressive CV. With many boxing fans and critics curious about just how this bout could end, with Tyson being a KO specialist, and Paul also enjoying an early finish, Carl Froch has revealed one outcome that will be impossible.

Mike Tyson ‘Not Allowed to Knock Out Jake Paul’
There’s reportedly a clause in the contract that prevents that from happening
A former super middleweight world champion, the Brit is now a boxing analyst and has revealed what he has heard ahead of fight night, with quotes thanks to Best Offshore Sportsbooks revealing just how this fight could end.
“Depends what it says in the contract, doesn’t it? Allegedly, there’s a clause in there that says [Tyson] can’t go for it (a knockout), so we’ll see, won’t we? I don’t think it should be a professional boxing match. You could say it’s a pro boxing match because Jake Paul could consider himself a low-level fighter, like an area-level fighter, but Mike Tyson retired in his early 40s. He fought way too long and was well past his best. So, at 58 years old, I’ll just be happy if he gets out of the ring without getting chinned.”

Both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson were present for the open workouts ahead of fight night, and their pad work got all boxing fans talking.
The key word being ‘allegedly’, Tyson’s career record of 44 knockouts will feel hard done by if that is the case, with his preferred method of victory not being available to him, in a fight that is already going against him. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if a fight between two men, who have such an age discrepancy, had its own unique rulings.
With many hoping that Mike Tyson can get the job done come the 15th of November, it appears they will have to settle for no knockout to Jake Paul on the road to victory.
