Chelsea tipped to offer two players in stunning swap deal for Victor Osimhen

Chelsea could line up an extraordinary offer.

Chelsea could be ready to offer two players in a stunning swap deal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Chelsea have endured an underwhelming season under Mauricio Pochettino, although it could end with them sneaking into the Europa League following a late-season revival.

Owner Todd Boehly has come under fire for the way he has overseen the club over the past two years, though nobody can accuse him of being tight-fisted with money.

The American has spent over £1 billion on new signings since he bought the club in 2022, and he looks set to dig deep into his pockets once again this summer.

Recent reports have claimed that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen favours a move to the Premier League this season, and that Stamford Bridge is his most likely destination.

Speaking to AreaNapoli, journalist Rudy Galetti tipped Chelsea to propose a swap deal for the 25-year-old Nigerian star, with two players on the table.

“As for the transfer chapter, Chelsea want Victor Osimhen, who will leave Napoli at the end of the season, more and more,” Galetti said.

“The Blues want to negotiate the terms of the release clause and it cannot be ruled out that the English club will try to include players such as [Cesare] Casadei or David Fofana in the negotiation to lower the price, although Napoli are not open to negotiating the price and are only asking for cash.

“With Victor a personal agreement is not so far away and the parties will continue talking in the coming weeks.”

Osimhen signed a one-year contract extension with Napoli in December, tying him to the club until 2026.

The deal reportedly includes a £113m (€131m) release clause, although other reports claim the 2022-23 Serie A champions would accept an offer of €120m but would not under any circumstances accept a swap deal.

Osimhen fired Napoli to a first scudetto in 33 years with 26 goals in 32 league outings.

His inconsistency this season has mirrored Napoli’s struggles, scoring 15 league goals with Napoli wallowing in mid-table.
