Chennedy Carter will not be watching Caitlin Clark in the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night, but she will be tuning in for another all-star rookie.
Carter made comments supporting Chicago Sky teammate Angel Reese, and subtly shading Clark on X, a day after Clark decided to drop out of the WNBA 3-point contest.
“watching for barbie and barbie only #WNBAAllStar,’” Carter posted on X, referring to Reese by her nickname.

“you should be here but i’m playing for you today CHENDOLL!” Reese replied before scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the WNBA’s 117-109 win over Team USA.
The comments fueled an ever-present rivalry between Reese and Clark, who have been competitors since their college days at Iowa and LSU.
Reese waved the white flag before Saturday’s contest, saying she will try to “get along” with Clark, who had 10 assists in the win, as the pair teamed up against Team USA.
“That’s what everybody wants to see,” Reese told ESPN on Friday. “I’m looking forward to it. Everybody can wear their ‘Get Along’ shirts together for one day, at least.

Carter made headlines earlier this summer for a “non-basketball” foul on Clark, where she hip-checked Clark to the ground while she was awaiting an inbound pass.
Carter was unapologetic about the foul and refused to answer any questions regarding the No. 1 draft pick after the game.

Clark, who has hit 71 three-pointers this season, the third-most in the league this year, did not compete in the WNBA three-point contest, which was won by Allisha Gray.
“I think just rest,” Clark said Friday when asked why she chose to skip the event. “I’ve been playing basketball for a year straight, it’s not an easy thing to just show up to and shoot off of a rack. It’s not something I’ve ever done before. It’s not something I’ve had a lot of time to practice, I’ve been focusing on helping my team win games.
