Patrick Mahomes had a message for the Chiefs on the back of their shocking and embarrassing loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
While Russell Wilson completed just 12 passes for 114 yards, Denver was able to come up with a 24-9 win as their secondary made life difficult for the Kansas City offense, which turned the ball over on five occasions.
Mahomes, who was reported to be unwell prior to the start of the game, passed for 241 yards but had no touchdown passes, while he threw a pair of costly interceptions. Still, he is not one to settle for mediocrity and has let the rest of the team know what is expected moving forward
“We have to prove we have the answers,” he said, per The Athletic’s Nate Taylor.
Apart from the two interceptions, Mahomes only completed 24 of his 38 passes in what was one of the worst games of his career.
Many fans are suggesting Taylor Swift’s absence had something to do with it while others reckon the Chiefs don’t run the ball enough.
They will be facing stiffer opposition in their next two games, with the highly-anticipated clash vs. the Dolphins up next and a Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles set to follow.
