He will receive the award on August 29.
For the first time since 1992, UEFA have changed the Champions League format ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 campaign, with 36 teams set to take part instead of 32.
Under the new format, each team will play eight games over 10 match weeks.
Then, at the end of the group stage, the top eight teams will automatically qualify for the last 16 phase, while the teams placed from ninth to 24th will contest the play-off round.
“We are convinced that the format chosen strikes the right balance and that it will improve the competitive balance and generate solid revenues that can be distributed to clubs, leagues and into grassroots football across our continent while increasing the appeal and popularity of our club competitions, said UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
As well as the draw on Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo will be honoured for his legacy in Europe’s elite competition.
The 39-year-old, a five-time Champions League winner, has netted 140 goals in the competition, which is 11 more than nearest rival Lionel Messi.
As well as finishing seven separate Champions League seasons as leading scorer, he is the only player to date to have scored in three separate Champions League finals.
And the former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward holds the record for having the longest Champions League scoring streak, having netted in 11 successive matches from June 2017 to April 2018.
Ceferin will present the award to Ronaldo at the at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the brightest stars in the UEFA Champions League constellation,” said the UEFA president ahead of Thursday’s ceremony.
“His extraordinary goal-scoring achievements in the competition seem destined to stand the test of time, posing a remarkable challenge for future generations to surpass.
“His sustained excellence at the highest level is a testament to his relentless pursuit of both team and individual honours.”

Ceferin added: “Over more than two decades, he has continuously evolved and refined his game while preserving a youthful passion for scoring and celebrating goals.
“His professionalism, work ethic, dedication, and ability to shine on the grandest stage are qualities that football players everywhere should aspire to emulate.”
