Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany might expand their portfolio by co-owning a WNBA team. The NFL couple already co-owns the KC Current, a women’s soccer team based in Kansas City, as well as the MLS team Sporting KC.
As per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Patrick Mahomes, Brittany, and the KC Current ownership have met with the WNBA and are discussing expanding to Kansas City.

Most fans were speaking about Mahomes’ $450 million contract, which totals $503 million including signing bonuses, etc.

The WNBA is looking to expand over the next two seasons, adding three more seasons to make it 15 teams total. With Golden State, Portland and Toronto joining in 2025, KC could be the next city to join.
Patrick Mahomes’ net worth, salary, and investments
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Mahomes is worth $90 million. He signed a 10-year $450 million with the Chiefs in 2020. However, his first deal was for $16.2 million for four years.
With a deal worth a total of $503 million, Mahomes is also the first athlete to sign a contract worth half a billion dollars.
Before he joined the KC Current ownership group, Mahomes also acquired a small stake in the Kansas City Royals.
His biggest real estate purchase was his undeveloped land in KC’s gated community Loch Lloyd. Since 2023, Mahomes and his family have been staying at the new property, which is a mansion with a golf course, a pool, a private pond, and half of a football field, per Bro Bible.
Apart from real estate, Mahomes also endorses brands like Direct TV, Adidas, Esentia Water and Oakley.
