While some fans sympathize with Kayla Nicole, there are many who feel the influencer is ‘obsessed’ with talking about Travis Kelce. This includes Dave Portnoy, who recently called out Nicole’, blaming her for the backlash she received. In the latest episode of the “BFFs” podcast, Portnoy said:

“Angel Reese and Kayla Nicole are perfect for each other. They are both people who love to talk and are obsessed about a third party. In this case, Travis Kelce for Kayla Nicole and Angel Reese loves talking about Caitlin Clark – she’s slowed down a little bit.

“They love talking about these people and then are surprised when they get backlash from the fans of said people they can’t stop talking about. ‘Why are the Swifties coming after me?’ Because Kayla Nicole, you don’t shut up talking about Travis and Taylor. Dave Portnoy concluded his statement with a suggestion to Kayla Nicole and Angel Reese to “stop talking about” their past, considering they already have a good idea of the backlash they might receive later. Portnoy’s criticism came almost a day after Nicole opened up about backlash for discussing Travis Kelce on the WNBA star’s podcast.

On Tuesday, Kayla Nicole made an appearance on the “I Am Athlete” show. She had an emotional moment talking about the backlash for discussing Travis Kelce on the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast. Detailing his parent’s reaction as well as her own regrets, Nicole said:

“I thought that I handled things with grace. Thought that I answered the questions to the best of my ability. The public had their interpretation of things — didn’t matter to me. My mom calls me, though. And it’s those conversations … that’s what matters to me because she’s offended. She’s hurt by the way people are perceiving her daughter. ‘
“She’s hurt by the negative headlines and the way people are spinning it. And even my mom was like, ‘Maybe next time, we don’t answer those questions,’ and it’s simple as that. Don’t give it any energy. You don’t always have to respond. I’ve been on that soap box for a long time. I don’t always have to respond.”
