During the second quarter, Murray drove to the basket and passed to superstar Nikola Jokic while jumping in the air.

Murray stepped and landed awkwardly on teammate Aaron Gordon’s foot.

The 27-year-old fell down to the ground and held on to his ankle as play halted seconds later.

TNT announcer Kevin Harlan commented, “Oh my goodness,” at Murray’s apparent injury.

And a Nuggets fan could be heard on live TV saying, “No, no, no” as Murray had his hands on the floor behind the basket out-of-bounds.

Murray left the game and was eventually ruled out of the contest as Denver went on to win.

He finished with six points and three assists in 14 minutes of action.

The eight-year NBA veteran Murray has already missed 16 games this season.

Earlier in February, it was revealed that he was dealing with bilateral tibia inflammation.

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone told reporters on February that “every time he plays it’s gonna be an issue,” per The Athletic.

Murray has an injury history prior to this season.

The Kentucky product missed playoff games in 2021 and 2022 due to a torn ACL that occurred in April 2021.

In 2023-24, Murray has averaged 20.9 points and 6.4 assists per game in 43 starts.

Denver has a 41-19 record and will play the Los Angeles Lakers on the road on Saturday.
