The New Jersey Devils Luke Hughes has played with Seth Jones in the IIHF with Team USA going on two years now.
Hughes made his senior debut in 2022, with Seth Jones wearing the “C” and being the veteran leader of the team.
Jones and Hughes have become familiar with each other over time, and Jones influence was pronounced by Hughes in a recent interview.
Hughes complimented Jones on his leadership skills, and how quickly Jones built a relationship with him while helping him on the ice.
The leadership has paid off this season, as Jones and Hughes have both been consistent contributors to Team USA in the IIHF MWC.
Seth Jones has 5 assists for 5 points, with a plus/minus of +6 with Team USA. While Luke Hughes has been as productive, with 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points, with a plus/minus of +4 in the MWC.
Jones has proven invaluable during the Men’s World Championships and greatly contributed to Team USA’s success.
Just imagine if he could bring this to Chicago, how much a turnaround it’d be in the locker-room.
You don’t have to be an “A-Hole” to be a leader.
