CAITLIN CLARK has revealed that she was “really upset” in the immediate aftermath of the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Clark, 22, was drafted by the Indiana Fever as the number one overall pick after a sensational few years at the University of Iowa.

But what should have been a night to remember for the former Hawkeyes point guard soon turned into one that left her “really upset”.

Clark was already a huge name by the time she arrived in New York for the 2024 draft after becoming the NCAA’s Division I all-time leading scorer for men’s and women’s basketball in her senior year.

And her new-found fame saw her pulled in every direction from the moment she was drafted, leaving her upset that she couldn’t celebrate with her loves ones.

Speaking on the ‘Fresh Talk’ podcast alongside former Iowa teammates Kate Martin, and Gabbie Marshall and Jada Gyamfi, Clark said: “I was so upset.

“Because after I got drafted I just got dragged out immediately and I didn’t get to see any of the draft.

“I had my phone but I really couldn’t go on it. It made me so upset. I didn’t even get to see Kate get drafted … but it made me really upset

“Then we went and had fun but … I didn’t even take pictures with you guys, my family, [boyfriend] Connor [McCaffery] — no one.”

Clark also claimed that she has “zero recollection” of the the trip to New York as a whole.

Adding that she only managed to sleep for “two hours” per day during the weekend on the east coast.

Clark explained that she had flown to New York from Los Angeles for the already busy weekend that saw her have a part in iconic show Saturday Night Live ahead of the draft.

Life in the WNBA has certainly improved since then for Clark who led the Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

While she also led the league for assists in her rookie season and earned herself the title of Rookie of the Year.

However, Clark has been linked with a new career venture away from the league.

The WNBA All-Star has been linked with the new Unrivaled 3×3 tournament beginning in 2025.

Unrivaled is tentatively slated to begin on January 17 in Miami, Florida.

The league has already signed the likes of Breanna Stewart and Paige Bueckers.

It also has a TV deal in place with TNT and will be held during the WNBA off-season.
