An incredible side-by-side video of USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams and Kansas City Chiefs superstar signal-caller Patrick Mahomes has gone viral.

The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is considered the heavy front-runner to go first overall in April’s 2024 NFL Draft. The Chicago Bears hold the No. 1 pick in the draft, though GM Ryan Poles will likely trade it if he’s not sold on the USC standout.

Appearing on the ESPN Chicago 1000 “Kap & J. Hood” program, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer said that Kliff Kingsbury told him there were “eerie similarities between” Williams and the reigning NFL MVP.

The ESPN 1000 X/Twitter account also shared this slick side-by-side video showing those “eerie similarities” with the two QBs:

Few would know more about the Mahomes and Williams comparisons than the former Arizona Cardinals head coach himself.

Kingsbury was Mahomes’ head coach in college for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and the former spent the 2023 season as an offensive assistant under Lincoln Riley’s Trojans last year. Kingsbury got a good close-up look of both Mahomes and Williams, so his comparison here is certainly noteworthy.

Since taking over as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback in 2018, Mahomes has cemented himself as the best player in football. He has won two MVP award while leading Kansas City to six straight AFC Championship Games, three Super Bowl appearances and two Lombardi Trophies.

If Williams can be anything close to the Chiefs’ superstar quarterback in the NFL, his next team will be in very good hands.
