Kanye West Faces New Lawsuit Over Allegations of Racism and Unpaid Wages
Kanye West’s legal troubles are escalating as former employees have filed a lawsuit against him and his former chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos. The allegations involve creating a racist work environment and failing to compensate employees for their work.
In the lawsuit, the former employees accused Kanye West and Milo Yiannopoulos of fostering a racist atmosphere. They detailed instances of “racist jabs” and claimed that West referred to some of his employees as “new slaves.” These accusations paint a troubling picture of the working conditions within West’s team.
The lawsuit further alleges that employees were subjected to extremely long working hours without proper compensation. Despite being promised $120,000 upon completing the YEEZY VAN streaming service app, the employees claim they received no payment after fulfilling their duties. The app, intended to promote West’s music, required substantial effort and dedication from the team.
Adding to the employees’ grievances, the lawsuit states that they were forced to sign nondisclosure agreements under the threat of layoffs. This tactic, according to the plaintiffs, was used to suppress any complaints or legal actions against the company.
Beyond unpaid wages and compensation for overtime, the former employees are seeking damages for emotional distress caused by the alleged hostile work environment. The emotional toll of working under such conditions has been significant, according to the lawsuit.
This lawsuit is not the first legal issue Kanye West has faced recently. Two months prior, a security guard sued West, alleging that Black employees experienced less favorable treatment compared to their white counterparts. These ongoing legal battles suggest systemic issues within West’s business operations.
The lawsuit also includes a disturbing allegation involving Bianca Censori, who was reportedly involved in developing a file-sharing link containing explicit content for West’s porn app. This claim adds another layer of controversy to the already serious accusations.
