Tyler Bass about to attempt field goal.
The Buffalo Bills’ cruel history of postseason heartbreak just suffered one of its most devastating blows yet.

Trailing by a field goal with 1:47 remaining, the Bills sent out Tyler Bass to attempt a 44-yard attempt to tie the game. The usually reliable kicker missed wide right in the wind, bringing back the painful memories of Scott Norwood’s “wide right” miss in Super Bowl 25:

And fans couldn’t help but bring up those two infamous words in Bills lore:

Oh my. #Bills, wide right.

It happened again. pic.twitter.com/DWDNTZoVH3

And wide right ends the dream. Speechless. This is just all too cruel. Sorry, Bills fans. You deserve a better fate. How depressing.

It’s also unfair to place full blame on Bass. The defense had no answers for Patrick Mahomes and the KC offense in the second half. Sean McDermott was reckless with his fake punt play call, and Stefon Diggs dropped a deep pass from Josh Allen minutes before Bass’ miss.
