Gilbert Arenas criticized Rudy Gobert’s decision to miss the Timberwolves’ Game 2 vs. the Nuggets due to the birth of his child – but fans are slamming the ex-NBA star’s ‘moronic’ take.

Gobert and his fiancee, Julia, welcomed a baby boy early Monday, and his Minnesota teammates took care of business without him as they beat Denver 106-80 to take a 2-0 series lead.

But before the game, Arenas disagreed with Gobert’s decision to skip Game 2 on his podcast ‘Gil’s Arena.’

‘It’s a baby bro, it gone be there when you get back,’ he said.

‘Whatever you think you bout to do with the baby, he gon be asleep.’

When another member of the show suggested Gobert needed ‘that skin-to-skin contact’ with his newborn, Arenas continued to double down.

‘I get you wanna be with your wife and smile and stuff… your good NBA healthcare insurance is because of you playing,’ he said.

Fans widely disagreed with Arena’s lax approach to childbirth, with one saying on X that they ‘felt bad’ for his kids.

Arenas has four children.

Another fan branded the opinion as ‘insane hating’ while another said the former Wizards player was ‘starting to get weird.’

Gobert announced in February that he and Julia were expecting a child.

The French center posted a photo to Instagram of his massive hand on his partner’s pregnant belly, captioning the photo ‘Legacy.’

The topic recently came to the forefront in golf as well, with newly-crowned Masters champion Scottie Scheffler winning the tournament with his heavily pregnant wife, Meredith, back home.

While he was dominating at Augusta National last month, he admitted he would abandon the tournament if his wife went into labor.

Scheffler subsequently managed to play through the RBC Heritage as well.
